Who is responsible for your data

Spyridon Bousios is the data controller for Family3, published under the Nemaio Works brand. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to support@nemaio.app.

Data we process

Family3 may process names, family relationships, dates, notes, places, profile images, memories, and life events that you choose to add. A local tree stays on your device unless you choose cloud features or share an exported file or link.

Optional account and cloud data

If you create an account, we process your email address, optional display name, authentication records, cloud trees, collaborator roles, and invitation details. Cloud data is used to provide backup, access across devices, and collaboration requested by you.

Why we process data

• To provide local tree features, account authentication, cloud backup, and collaboration you request.
• To secure the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and answer support or privacy requests.
• To meet legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims when necessary.
• To understand optional app usage only when you switch on usage analytics.

Legal bases in the EEA and UK

We rely on performance of our agreement with you for account, sync, backup, and collaboration features; legitimate interests for service security, limited support, and reliability; consent for optional usage analytics; and legal obligations where applicable. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time in Family3 Settings without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Optional analytics

Usage analytics are off by default. If you opt in from Settings, Firebase Analytics may receive app interactions, device or app-instance identifiers, and technical information for product analytics. Family3 does not send family-tree content or set your Family3 account ID as the Analytics user ID. Turning the setting off stops future Analytics collection from Family3 on that device.

Service providers, sharing, and transfers

We do not sell personal data or use it for behavioural advertising. Google Firebase provides authentication, cloud storage, hosting, server functions, and optional analytics. Data is otherwise disclosed only when you invite a collaborator or share an export, when required by law, or when necessary to protect users and the service.

Service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers rely on an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

Retention and deletion

• Local tree data remains until you delete it, clear the app's data, or remove the app.
• Account and active cloud content remain while your account is active and are removed when you complete account deletion, subject to data we must retain by law.
• Expired or revoked collaboration invitations are removed when no longer needed for the invitation workflow.
• Optional Analytics event-level data is retained for no longer than 14 months.
• Support and privacy-request correspondence is normally retained for up to 24 months after the request is closed, unless a longer period is needed for a legal claim.

Restricted residual copies may remain temporarily in service-provider backups or security logs until their ordinary secure deletion cycle completes. They are not used for ordinary product purposes.

You can permanently delete your account and owned cloud data in Family3 under Settings, Delete Account and Data. Shared trees owned by another user remain with that owner, but your account access is removed.

Security

Family3 uses platform authentication, access controls, and encrypted network transport. No system can guarantee absolute security, so we also limit collection and keep local use available without an account.

Information about relatives and children

Family3 accounts are intended for adults and the service is not directed to children. Adults who add information about another living person, including a child, are responsible for having an appropriate lawful basis and permission, limiting entries to what is necessary, and respecting that person's rights. Do not add sensitive information that is not needed for a family tree.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to be informed and to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete personal data. You may also withdraw consent and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Family3 includes JSON export, an Analytics choice, and in-app deletion tools. Contact us for any request that cannot be completed in the app. We normally respond within one month after verifying the request.

In Greece, the supervisory authority is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.

Automated decisions

Family3 does not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects through automated processing or profiling.

Updates

We may update this policy when features or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
